Telomere/Telomerase Activation Q & A

What is Telomerase Activation?

Telomerase activation is the process of activating specific enzymes to prevent the shortening, or possibly enhance the lengthening, of telomeres in your cells. Activating these enzymes helps to repair and restore small pieces of DNA that might be missing after cells repeatedly divide. Cell division is a normal part of growth, but it results in the shortening of telomeres. Telomerase activation can replace the lost DNA and may gradually slow down the aging process.

How Does it Affect the Body?

Healthy cells divide and small pieces of DNA are continually lost. This is a normal biological process. The rate at which telomeres shorten is associated with many markers of aging. Telomere activation does not slow aging but is a marker for the progression of chronic disease and many signs of aging.

Does it Offer Long-Term Benefits?

Telomerase Activation offers benefits for as long as the therapy remains in place. As long as the cells receive what they need to continue to replicate in their complete form, the cycle will remain in place allowing the patient to experience renewed muscle growth, higher levels of energy, and the ability to heal after physical injuries and illnesses. In conditions that result in premature aging, the use of Telomerase Activation can help slow down the aging process to a more gradual and steady pace. The activation process can prevent DNA from being damaged and help the molecules to repair themselves naturally.
